Community Guidelines

Overview

At Yubo, we want to help you and our other users make real connections, have actual (like, real) fun, and feel free to express yourselves in ways you might not always get a chance to in the real world. But we know all of that can only happen when you feel safe to be yourself — and free from pressure, doubt, fakery, and harm.

To make that possible, we’ve built our app around a simple promise: to make sure your path always stays clear no matter where your Yubo journey takes you.

Our Community Guidelines are here to help us keep that promise, setting the ground rules on all aspects of how Yubo users chat, share and interact. And since every user agrees to them when they sign up for the app, we think they’re worth a few minutes of your time so you’re up to speed on what flies on Yubo — and what absolutely does not.

Curious? Let’s dive in!

Safety First

Prioritizing our users’ safety has been part of Yubo’s DNA from the start. We want you to relax, have fun, and be yourself — knowing we’re quietly keeping an eye out for anything that doesn’t feel right.

We don’t allow violence, threats, hate speech, scams, or anything that puts people at risk, on or off the app. Content that’s graphic, discriminatory, or exploitative is also a no-go.

If something feels off — like a fake profile, a user asking for money, or content that crosses a line — report it immediately through the in-app reporting tool. Our Safety team and features work around the clock to review individual cases and act fast. Reports are handled confidentially so the user you report won’t know your identity.

Keeping Things Real

Our take: This whole thing only works when people are who they say they are.

That means using your real age, your actual name, and a photo that looks like you. It’s how we keep things authentic on the app, and it’s key to establishing trust with other Yubo users from the very start.

Because we’re an 18+ app, we use age-estimation technology to make sure everyone’s old enough to come through our digital door — the primary checkpoint to the Yubo experience that keeps our whole community safe. And in cases where we’re less than sure about someone’s age, we can request a user’s ID right in the app.

Please note: If you fudge the details about your identity or pretend to be someone else, you could lose access to your account. You can find further details about our age and identity verification processes in our Safety Hub. And if you’re concerned that someone on Yubo isn’t who they say they are, please report it to us here.

Respect Others

That’s right, the Golden Rule plays here.

In fact, we expect everyone here to treat others with the same basic kindness and decency you’d want for yourself. That means no bullying, harassment or any other behavior meant to embarrass, threaten or hurt someone else. Spreading personal rumors, making comments or jokes that punch down, or sharing someone’s private info or photos are not permitted on Yubo. Same goes for sexual harassment and unwanted advances in any form, including comments, shared content and requests.

If someone ever makes you uncomfortable, block and report them right away — and we’ll take it from there. You can also visit our Safety Hub to learn more about how we handle reports and protect our users.

Protecting Your Privacy

Yubo is built to help you share what you want to — and nothing more.

Be careful about publicly posting or sending personal details like your full name, home address, phone number, or other social accounts. Keep private photos and videos private, and don’t ask others for theirs. Sharing or exposing someone else’s personal information without their consent is strictly off-limits and could get your account suspended or banned.

We take privacy seriously on our side of things, too. You can learn more about how we protect your data in our Privacy Policy or Safety Hub.

Platform Integrity

Don’t you love getting a message from a scammer? Yeah, we don’t either.

That’s why we don’t allow anyone to impersonate others, spread fake accounts, or use Yubo to promote/sell products or services. Scams, blackmail, “sextortion,” or any other shady attempts to get personal info or payment are also strictly banned.

If you see something that feels off — like someone asking for money, impersonating a public figure, or trying to sell you something — report it right away. Our team reviews every report that comes their way and will get back to you as soon as they can.

Content & Behavior Boundaries

We love when our users express themselves, but some things just don’t belong on Yubo.

Specifically, we don’t allow content that’s sexually explicit or that exploits others. That includes suggestive photos, sexual comments or behaviors that cross someone’s boundaries during a live or chat. Same goes for violence, gore, and some content that’s clearly intended to be shocking or disturbing.

Basically, if you wouldn’t share it at a mixed social gathering, don’t share it here. And if you ever spot content that crosses the line, report it and we’ll get it handled.

Harmful Activity & Self-Harm

We don’t allow anything that puts you or anyone else at risk.

That includes content or conversations that promote dangerous, violent or self-destructive behavior of any kind. Prohibited activity includes encouraging others to harm themselves, sharing or joking about self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide, or taking part in stunts and challenges that could get someone hurt.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out through our in-app reporting tools so our team can step in. In serious cases, we’ll contact the appropriate authorities to make sure people get the help they deserve.

Exploitation of Minors

Yubo has zero tolerance for any behavior that involves or could lead to the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors — online or offline. This includes grooming, sharing or requesting sexual material involving minors, trafficking, or any form of child sexual abuse content. Any user found engaging in or promoting this kind of activity will be permanently banned from Yubo, and we will report violations to law enforcement and other appropriate authorities.

We work closely with trusted safety partners around the world to detect, prevent and act on these risks. If you ever see or experience something that feels wrong, please report it immediately here or through the app.

Enforcement & Accountability

We want to be clear on this: Every person who joins Yubo agrees to follow these guidelines, so any violation as described above is something we take seriously.

Sometimes that means a warning or removing content. Other times, it may mean additional steps to verify a user’s identity, or temporarily suspending or permanently banning an account. How we respond depends on the situation and the level of risk involved. And if we spot illegal activity or serious safety concerns, we could also bring law enforcement or other relevant authorities into the situation.

If you’re looking for more details on how we respond to violations of our conduct rules, feel free to check out our Transparency Report, which will give you details of the actions we took when our Community Guidelines were violated. And if you want more info about our commitment to user safety or the tools we provide to live up to that promise, please visit our Safety Hub.

If we take action on your content or profile, you’ll get a notification in the app explaining what happened. If you disagree with a moderation decision, you can appeal it using our support request form.

Thanks for the read — and for helping us make Yubo fun, inviting and safe for all our users.
